NZ Representation for Golf Fusion Academy Players

Two of the Golf Fusion Elite Academy, Sam An and Brad Kendall have been selected to represent NZ in Australia in the new year.

Sam has been selected to play in the Masters of the Amateurs and the Australian Amateur while Brad Kendall has been selected to play in the NSW Amateur.

It is a big year for both golfers who will be looking to stake their claim for Eisenhower honours in 2012 to be played in Turkey.

Both players are coached by Jay Carter who will be taking the NZ Team to the NSW Amateur as the performance manager.

The improvements that both player's have made since using TrackMan has certainly accelerated their learning and their performance and I am sure that we will see some good results in Australia.

Tiger talking about TrackMan

Tiger Woods recently won the Chevron World Challenge to get the monkey off his back since his (ahem) indiscretion!

He has worked very hard on his golf swing with Sean Foley (who is a TrackMan user) and in my humble opinion they are doing some good work and it wouldn't surprise me to see Tiger back in the winner's circle more often next year.

TrackMan Tiger

Tiger now has a great understanding of how the swing works and he has gained this knowledge through Sean Foley and his TrackMan. His practice swing in the Chevron is the perfect indicator that he understands the numbers and knows what he needs to do.

To see an interview with Tiger before the Chevron Open check out this link, watch his face light up when he talks about TrackMan.

Golf Fusion owns the only TrackMan outside of Auckland and if you would like a session give us a call and take your game to the next level.

BOP Men's Team Finish 2nd

The BOP Men's Golf Team finished 2nd at the recent interprovincials in Gisborne. It was an amazing week for the realtively young team who were the only unbeaten team heading in to the final.

During the week the Bay players, who are all in the Golf Fusion Academy showed immesnse courage and belief to amass some impressive 5-0 wins as well as some amazing comebacks.

Early in the week against Tasman the Bay produced what coach Jay Carter said was one of the best days he'd had at an interprovincial.

"With four holes to go against Tasman if you said we'd win I'd have had you committed, even a half would have had you committed. But it was an outstanding comeback, just huge, particularly from Craig.

Sam Davis Rolling the rock

"I was walking off the 7th green with Landyn and heard Walshy [manager Aaron Walsh] and Sam yelling from 300m away when Craig sank that putt. It was a pretty emotional afternoon and we might be young but they played as a team."

However Southland were too strong for the young Bay of Plenty side who eventually lost 3-2 after beating Canterbury 3 and a half 1 and a half in the morning.

Sam An Joins Golf Fusion Academy

NZ U19 Champion and member of the Srixon Academy Sam An has become part of the Golf Fusion Academy stable. Sam is an incredibly talented and driven young man who has been working with Jay Carter for the last few months.

At 17 Sam is one of the countries bright hopes for the future and if he keeps on progressing the way he has been I am sure we will see more of him on top of many of the countries leaderboards.

Though Sam is coached by Golf Fusion in Tauranga he will continue to play his representative golf for Auckland.
