Jay Carter is originally from Tauranga having attended Tauranga Boys College before moving to Wellington to further his golfing career.

He has played representative golf for Bay of Plenty, Wellington and NZ Juniors and was in the NZ Titleist Academy for 5 years.

He now has a passion for coaching and is coach for the Bay of Plenty Golf Association and is on the New Zealand Golf High Performance Coaching Panel.

Jay is currently coaching some of the regions top players, such as Brad Kendall, Andrew Stewart, Jared Pender, Sam An, Zoe Brake, Hayden Beard, Craig Hamilton, James Hamilton, Ben Taylor, Ben Guilford, Landyn Edwards and Victor Janin among others.
